Happy Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's Day...for all the joys and tears it brings.

Motherhood has been a source of my greatest joy as well as a source of my greatest sorrow.  When the family works as it should, it is wonderful.  But when things break, it nearly breaks me.

How I wish I could shelter my children from the brokenness of life, both in them and around them.  Time has taught me I cannot.  For some, this lesson comes sooner than for others. Eventually, it touches everyone.  My hope is no longer that I can shelter my family  from the brokenness.  My hope is in this.

The brokenness I cannot keep my children from, God can faithfully walk them through.

Happy Mother’s Day….to those having the perfect Mother’s Day, to those mothers in the middle of the broken, to those who have lost mothers, and those who have lost hope of becoming mothers.  May God bless you, each one, on this day.

Here is  to the fun we have, and the challenges we meet 

To the lemons life can hand us and the ways we make them sweet

To mountains that are ours to climb, to rivers we pass through

To what looks easy, and what looks impossible to do

Here is to the many ways I love to watch you grow

Here is to the ways that I grow with you as we go

Here is to the love we share both in the high and low

And the love of God that holds us both, everywhere we go!
