It is the start of a new year with many a “to do” lists for those eager to make this year count. This year instead of something I want to do I have something I want to be and that is “pleasing”, pleasing to my Heavenly Father. I was created for His pleasure, so it seems to me the best use of my time. Besides, I have wasted too much time chasing the wind, which is how I would describe what happens when I set my heart on anything but the One who can really satisfy the longings of my soul. Even if I happen to catch the wind the ride only lasts so long, the things of this life are temporal, my heart longs for what is lasting. They say that goals should be measurable so I came up with a mnemonic to remind me of the kind of “me” He is pleased with. Here it is (if you please). (For link to the mnemonic click on..
