Words.

Words. They can hurt, they can help, and they do matter. In elementary school, my son's teacher facilitated a project in which the students wrote down what they appreciated about their fellow students. Each child received a "Book of Compliments" as a result. Of everything he brought home that year, the book was my favorite. I liked it even more than the Mother's Day card, or the stellar score on the Reading Comprehension test. It was more than a class project, it was a life lesson. Words matter because people matter. Words can make another person smile, maybe even make their day.

Here's a little thought on Words.

Words.

Sometimes it only takes one word

To make someone feel loved or heard

Where compliments as seed are sown

Lives of confidence are grown

You only have one life to live

Words are a gift that you can give

Let kind words fall in your cup

And seek to fill another’s up!
