The Ultimate Vaccine

Vaccine is the new buzzword these days. I wonder how many people google “vaccine” in a day, or do I even want to know? Social media platforms everywhere list the pro’s, the cons, the myths, and truths about vaccines. Most people will believe what they want to believe, but here’s the thing that gets me. Vaccines are created to protect us from illness and death. They offer no protection against death, just a way to potentially delay it. But what if there was a vaccine that would protect you from dying? What if it was free and available to everyone? And that’s the oxymoron. This is Easter, and while millions of people around the globe are finding joy and peace in a vaccine that only potentially delays the reality of death, millions more are neglecting the free gift of eternal life Jesus died to give to all who will know Him as Lord and King. Pharmaceutical companies and governments are working round the clock to get this vaccine to as many people as they possibly can as quickly as they possibly can. What are we as a church doing? I pray this Easter that you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior. I pray that Christ’s followers might live as though we have been vaccinated, and it is our job to ensure people who aren’t vaccinated against death...are invited to be. Let’s remember the gift Christ gave us in the cross, and pray that He would be known to many this Easter.
“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. “ II Corinthians 5:21
