Back to School

It is that time of year again. With all of its excitement, fear, hope, and disappointment. Kids everywhere are heading back to school. I hope it is a year of learning for all of us. Learning for knowledge sake , but also learning to think outside of the box. Learning what kindness looks like to someone who might experience it differently than we do. Learning to forgive - ourselves and others. Learning to let go of what we need to let go of, learning to hang on to what is good and will ultimately last. Let's pray for the new school year.

Prayer for the New School Year…

It’s fall again and so it’s here

Time to start a new school year

Time for learning and for growing

All we’re better off for knowing

Math and reading, writing too

Science, and music, to name a few

Time for friendships in which to invest

Time to start fresh, and to give it my best

A time to pray and simply ask

For courage and strength to meet each task

Both when everything’s going my way

And when my plans go astray

A time to pray for wisdom to

Discern what God would have me do

In the many decisions the year will bring

In both the big and little things

A new year can bring hope and cheer

Perhaps some anxiety or fear

You never know what a day will bring

But just remember this one thing

The One who formed the sky and sea

Knows both today and days to be

We can face what’s round each bend

Walking with Him as our friend!

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
