If life is like a box of chocolates...reach for the hope filled kind!

When you miss someone at Christmas...

It is here, the most wonderful time of the year
Full of laughter and carols, bright lights and good cheer
And yet for some hearts there’s an ache deep inside
Days of good cheer mixed with nights that are cried
When loss is a part of your life and your heart
When you know what it’s like to have dreams fall
When you miss someone dearly, you wish was still here
It shadows your joy and it dampens your cheer
It is hard in the beauty of lights all aglow
In the wonder of manger scenes, reindeer, and snow
When the fire is warm and the candles are bright
When the ache in your heart says- it’s still not quite right
How I pray in the sadness that Christmas can bring
Your heart can remember the hope of this thing
Though our world is broken and sadness remains
There’s a better day coming and that’s why Christ came
In the midst of emotions that come with Decembers
I pray there’s a part of your heart that remembers
The joy of your loved one, their love which still lives
The beautiful things that this season still gives
Someday the broken, will be made whole
The Child of Christmas will fill every hole
Meanwhile may yours, be the peace that world sings
In the beauty of Christmas and all that it brings

“Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level and the rough places plain. And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the LORD has spoken.” Isaiah 40:4,5 (ESV)
