When You Miss Someone

The sun still shines somewhere today

You may not see it, but again you may

You take the moments one by one

In those times you miss someone

Harder moments you will know

Moments when the clouds hang low

And then again, from time to time

Unexpectedly the sun will shine

Grief is not a right or wrong

But more a stream you float along

Navigating twists and turns

With always something new to learn

There will be times you wonder why

Something simple makes you cry

Times you think will make you sad

That in the end are not so bad

The gift of love is rich and rare

You miss it when it is not there

To send a smile or hug your way

Or call to brighten up your day

And yet the gift is worth the pain

The days of sunshine, worth the rain

Cherish deep what makes you smile

And if you want, well cry a while

We know that God is always there

Joy and pain with us to share

So put Your hand in His and know

His love which will not let you go

Share with Him each joy and sorrow

Trust Him now and for tomorrow

You don’t have to walk alone

He promises to guide you home

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.  Matthew 5:4
