When U R Stressed and U Know It

When something tells you that you’re stressed
And you’re not handling it the best
Something probably needs to change
At the very least be rearranged
​
You’ve likely tried a million things
Like listening to a bird that sings
Or counting your blessings one by one
Or walking backwards, just for fun
​
Now all of these are good and fine
You have your ways and I have mine
And I would say, if it’s right and good
And helps your stress, well then you should
​
Perhaps you're running out of ideas
And thinking your stress, is just is what it is
Well, don’t lose heart, for we have a few
Suggestions that just might help you
​
So here they are from A to Z
Try them for yourself and see
If you would give these things a shout
For helping you when you’re stressed out!
A to Z
A is for analyze something you see
An ant, or some art, or a big apple tree
B is for breathing (we know that you do)
But try for a change a real deep breath or two
​
C is for caring (now we know you care)
So show it to someone by something you share
​
D is for dessert, because once in a while
You ought to give tastebuds a reason to smile
​
E is for emptying your list of a few
Of the things you’ve decided you’re needing to do
​
F is for friendships, we all need some
So nurture a favorite or make a new one
​
G is for giving, because we believe
It is more blessed to give, than it is to receive
​
H is for happiness, think with your mind
Of a corner in your world where this, you might find
​
I is for intellect, we all have some
So make an intelligent choice, even one
​
J is for jumping, we know you can do it
Or if you’ve a hoolahoop try jumping through it
K is for kindness, it won’t cost to give
And it just might give someone more reason to live
L is for love, and the half we can’t tell
Of the things that could be if you’d share this as well
M is for memories, make some today
Or reminisce those that seem quite far away
N is for notice the things that you can
That are nicer because they did not go as planned
O is for open your heart and your mind
To the wonderful things that may be yours to find
P is for practice, the very best way
To get better at something is practice each day
Q is for quick, be quick to forgive
And quick to be glad for the life that you live
R is for reach, reach for the stars
The sky is the limit, no matter how far
S is for smile, and we’ll tell you why
It might lift your spirits to give it a try
T is for taking time to try new things
Get out of your box and try spreading your wings
U is for understanding that it’s okay
If not everybody else see things your way
V is for voice, you have one so use it
But be very wise with each word as you choose it
W is for waiting, now that can be tough
But somewhere inside you is patience enough
X is for excellence, which means excel
Or do what you do, and try doing it well
Y is for yodeling, give it a try
It’s a mighty fine pastime beginning with “Y”
Z is for zest, add a bit to your day
A little get-up-and-go, goes a long way
