What Trust Is

Trust is not walking where you feel secure

When you’re in control and your footsteps are sure

 

Trust is the soul, calm and serene

Even when what lies ahead is unseen

​

Trust is not holding your dreams and your plans

It is rather releasing them into the hands

 

Of He who is Sovereign for time without end

Yet willingly walks by your side, as a friend 

 

Trust is a gift, an action, a grace

Formed in the midst of the unknown we face

 

When the tears come, it roots itself deep

Be it for joy or for sorrow we weep 

 

Trust is a state of both heart and of mind 

To let go of what holds you back till you find

 

The freedom that’s found in what you let go of

And the thrill of free falling into God's great love
