What I Wish I Could Do...For You

What I wish I could do...to ease your pain

Or lighten your load...or lessen the strain

 

What I wish I could do...to send you the news

That if given a choice...you would certainly choose

 

What I wish I could do...moving on from here

Is make all our troubles...just disappear

 

All of our worries and sadness...erase

And nothing but happiness put in it’s place

 

Someday our troubles...will all cease to be

But that will not be until Eternity

 

Until we enter Heaven...with God on His throne

And experience joys that we yet have not known

 

Meanwhile I pray...that should troubles come

We’d not be too burdened and not come undone

​

And that all of our burdens, the big and the small

We would trust to the One who is Lord Over All
