What A Mother Is

 

 

 

A mother loves  you when you are small

And cannot do that much at all

​

A mother loves you as you grow

And think that more than her, you know

 

She love you with compassion true

Remembers, she was once young too

 

A mother is willing to invest

Herself, so you can be your best

 

A mother loves you on the days

Circumstance goes both your ways

 

And when life seems to fall apart

A mother worries for your heart

 

A mother pulls out all her tricks

The brokenness in life to fix

 

And yet she knows that in the end

There are things she cannot mend

 

A mother teaches you to cope

Believes in you against all hope

 

Inspires you to try again

Sees fresh hope, around each bend

 

She points you to her Father who

Has promised to make all things new

 

And thanks you that she is part of

Showing you His steadfast love 

 

“As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you..” Isaiah 66:13
