The Christmas Story

It’s the birth of our Savior, the King of Kings

And all of the hope that a birth like this brings

It’s the birth of our exit from bondage to sin

And all of the sadness that’s bundled therein

It’s the birth of new birth, from which we never die

Points the way to the place we will never cry

The birth of new hope with the wonder of knowing

We’ve not yet arrived at the place we are going

For wholeness turned brokenness back in the garden

Christ came to bring restoration and pardon

This is not our home, we are just passing through

He is coming again and will make all things new

There’s a reason this story will never grow old

It has power to change hearts each time it is told

So read it again, like it’s written to you

And let God touch your heart as just He can do

“Behold, the Lamb of God,

who takes away the sin of the world!”    John 1:29
