 Taste of Joy​

​
 

It cannot be earned and it cannot be bought

It is most often found by those of whom it’s sought

 

Sometimes it’s found easily, sometimes it hides

Life always goes better when it’s by your side

 

Often on mountaintops it is discovered

In valleys it sometimes takes more to uncover

 

Wherever you are, finding it starts

By making a space for its place in your heart

 

It smiles in the sunshine and dances in rain

Steadies the waves and can boost the mundane

 

It is best when it’s shared and yet everyone knows

No one but you, knows just how deep yours goes

 

Seek it and find it and strive to live in it

Share it with others like it has no limits

Strength for the moment and rest for the soul

The gift of joy given, and given in full
