Stocking Stuffers for the Soul

Beneath the midnight Christmas stars

Let us count the blessings that are ours

The treasures that are ours to claim

Because on Christmas, Jesus came

Let us for a moment, put away

The stress and heartache of the day

And worship like we will when we

Reign with Him by the crystal sea

Christ did not come that winter night

Each wrong on earth, right then to right

But to bring hope, real and supreme

To those His blood would soon redeem

He came that on our darkest days

We would have, a reason to praise

No matter how good or bad circumstance is

To bring us joy, knowing that we are His

He came to make the broken whole

He came to give us life most full

He came to comfort those who mourn

To be a shelter through our storms

He came that every eye and ear

Might look and see, might stop and hear

The message of peace, and goodwill

For those who choose to trust Him still

Tomorrow may bring sun or rain

Life brings joy and life brings pain

Regardless of the changing tide

Love reigns as in Him we abide

I pray this Christmas brings you hope

At the top of your game or the end of your rope

That Christ is yours, that you are His

So that Christmas brings joy, for all that it is

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder,

and  his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

 Isaiah 9:6 (ESV)
