Sharing The Sadness

Know that I have not come

To take the pain away

There is no way to lessen it

There are no words to say

Even though I’m longing so

To lighten what you bear

Pain is not mine to take away

It is only mine to share

I wish I had a way

to make the heavy light

I wish I had the means

To change wrong to right

 But healing what is broken

is not in my power to do

It is only mine to share your sorrow

As I sit with you

I could tell you that the sun

Will shine again somehow

But in the disbelief of grief

That would not help you now

Grief is a journey of its own

With many twists and turns

You can grieve a thousand losses

Still of grief, have much to learn

I know of only One

Who truly understands

When it seems His face is hidden

I pray you feel His hand

Guiding, leading, carrying you

In His loving way

Till sin and death are swallowed up

And the last tear wiped away

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”                        Revelation 21:4 (ESV)
