Peace for Anxiety

 

 

Today I met an anxious moment, maybe you did too

Things were weighing on my mind, the way things sometimes do

 

Both troubles I can see and troubles up ahead I fear

Until I felt God take my hand and simply say “I’m here.”

 

“I am here to help you, and I am here for good

When things go well and when they don’t go as you think they should

 

I’m Sovereign and Almighty I will always do my part

Remember ‘I am here’ and let that calm your anxious heart.’”

 

It didn’t make my troubles go away or disappear

It doesn’t mean forever I have said goodbye to fear

 

It means when fear encroaches on this child I have a plan

I’m simply going to let my Father take hold of my hand

 

I don’t know all your worries, or your anxieties

But I know there is not one of them the Father cannot see

 

I know He has a plan and though I don’t know what it is

I know He’ll trade your fear for peace as you place your hand in His

 

 

“Say to those who have an anxious heart, Be strong; fear not! ‘Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.” Isaiah 35:4I
