Missing Someone At Thanksgiving

Here is just a little prayer, as a way to say

We understand that this may be a hard Thanksgiving day

There will be some sadness in this time of thanks because

Someone is not here and it is different than it was

 

We cannot take the pain away, but even as you grieve

We pray you cling to Jesus who alone will never leave

And pray that God would grant you joy as only He is able

As you celebrate this year around the dinner table

 

In this time of giving thanks for all that we have got

And reaching out for grace for all the things that we do not

May the Giver of all good things, as only He can do

Fill our hearts with thankfulness that is genuine and true

 

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope."
