Missing Someone At Easter

When you take the chance to love someone it gives you hope for days to come

Be it sunny days or trials you weather, life is sweeter lived together

Yet this sweetness brings a pain, for life is never quite the same

When you lose someone for whom you care and with whom you hoped more days to share

I wonder what Jesus’ followers felt, when at His tomb with tears they knelt

Yes He rose with Sunday’s dawn, but the in between was oh so long

What joy for them, Resurrection Day, still He did not come to stay

But over death to Victor be, now and all eternity

For those who know Him hope runs deep, even through the tears we weep

The cross He bore was not in vain we know in Christ death does not reign

Still in between our losses now, and the day when every knee will bow

The in between can seem so long, Lord hold us in Your love so strong

Meet us in the joy we share and also we pray, meet us where

Joy and sorrow both are found, and make it for us, holy ground

Weep with us yet in our sorrow, lift our eyes to that bright tomorrow

Where no more will weep the soul, as your kingdom comes in full!

When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O death where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”  I Corinthians 15:54-55
