I wish I had some words to say

But sometimes words get in the way 

Where love is strong the grief is deep

The only words are tears we weep

 

It is hard to know what a day will bring

Loss somehow changes everything

The days to come, unique, each one

You will always miss that special one

 

A lifetime seems too short to hold

The things that can’t be bought with gold

Like comfort in a word or touch

From someone whom you loved so much

 

And yet the love will carry on

Long after those we love are gone

Memories, on our way we take

And all the difference that will make
