Let Me Grieve the Dream

Let me grieve the dreams that I must grieve while walking here below

Held by the grace and strong embrace that will not let me go

Let me feel the sadness and the tears of what will never be

While pressing still, in His will, towards a glad eternity

Let me grieve the dreams that I must grieve, both the big and small

With the peace that He, cares for me, and is the Lord of all

Let me gather up the emptiness, the sorrow, and the strain

And lay it down, at the feet of Him, who never wastes a pain

Let me grieve the dreams that I must grieve, in the presence of

The comfort of the One who loves with everlasting love

Let me trust Him in the purpose that is hidden from my view

Let Him use the fire to refine, as only He can do

Let me grieve the dreams that I must grieve, and as I lay them down

Lead me Lord to Calvary, where your cross became your crown

Fill me with a steadfast hope, and help me to believe

The rich reward, You will afford, those not afraid to grieve

“...Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.”

Psalm 30:5
