Just A Vessel

So clearly I remember Lord, when I first became Your own

And being called Your child, was the greatest joy I’d known

I remember thinking , how can it really be

A Sovereign God would care, for a soul such as me

I trusted You that day, knowing whatever You’d ask

Sufficient would be Your grace, to help me complete each task

But sometimes now I’ve my own ideas, of  the ways my life should go

I forget that mine is not to guide, but You, my Guide, to follow

Lord when Your plans are different, than the plans that I would choose

Remind me I’m a vessel, whom You know how best to use

Your ways are not like mine Lord, in all I cannot see

Help me put my hand in Your hand, and trust You faithfully

Make me willing to be willing, as every day unfolds

To let You take the trials of life and turn them into gold

Help me walk with you in sunshine, and through the rainstorms too

Till the day when all that I desire, I find in seeing You.

“For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation.”  Psalm 149:4 (ESV)
