It is Easter Time

 

 

 

It is time for the Easter holiday with songs to sing and games to play

Easter ham and Easter sweets, Easter flowers and candy treats

 

But the thing that makes it Easter is, God sent the only Son of His

To earth upon a cross to die, for people such as you and I

 

And that is the song that my heart sings, the sweetest thing that Easter brings

The knowledge of this wondrous love, the hope to live with Him above

 

The flowers will fade, the treats go fast, but the joy of Easter will always last

The joy that Jesus paid the price when He became our sacrifice

 

There is joy that through Christ God forgives, joy that even now He lives

Joy that He waits for us in glory, joy we know of the Easter story

 

Really I guess you could say, that every day is an Easter day

A day of joy if at the cross, you have met the Christ who paid your cost

 

I believe the Easter story is true, and how I hope that you do too

Knowing of it is a start but it is not complete, ‘till it is in your heart

 

And so I pray this Easter prayer that you and people everywhere

Would not just read but live Christ’s story, share His cross and share His glory
