If life is like a box of chocolates...reach for the hope filled kind!
(and have a little chocolate for your soul)

In The Letting Go

When things that you hold, are holding you
Keeping you, from what you could do

Keeping you, from who you could be
Pray for the courage to set them free

Things that hold us,while not all wrong
Can take a hold on us, that’s strong

To hold the peace we long to know
We have to choose to let them go

I long to be admired, esteemed
To hold the things for which I’ve dreamed

To “be enough” and to be sure
The good in life I can secure

And it is good to dream, to plan,
To want to do the best I can

But I have learned it better by far
To find the joy in where you are

I have learned that in my story
There is really little glory

And I have learned that better still
Is to want God's Sovereign will

Moments lived for God Divine
Are moments where His brilliance shines

He is the brightness of the sun
His glory cannot be outdone

To know Him is to know there’s more
Than just this life, worth living for

It is to know my dreams are small
And really not that great at all

Unknown the wonders of His art
Of which my life, is one small part

Unfathomable the glory He
Prepares for all eternity

The letting go is hard it’s true
But in the end for those who do

Greater things these few will find
Than all the things they leave behind

Their sorrows it does not erase
But it allows them to embrace

A hope that waits around the bend
Of joy to come time without end

Lord give me grace in the letting go
Your greater love to deeper know

And in the decrease may it be
I grow in Christ, increasingly

Until the last of “me” is gone
And you call me home that brighter dawn

Refine me as the fire does gold
Till You alone are all I hold

“As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness; when I awake, I shall be satisfied with your likeness.” Psalm 17:15
