For This Moment

Yesterday was a hard day.  I lost several hours working on a project; due to the unforeseen and uncontrollables my project ended up being a waste of time and money.  I made some good memories but alas the bitter memory of it not turning out like I was planning.  Sometimes in life you lose a lot more than time or money, sometimes you lose someone.  Some losses are disappointing (the former) and some are devastating (the latter).  Usually with disappointments things look better in the morning, a good night of sleep can do a lot for you.  Devastations on the other hand aren’t so easily turned around.  Moments are for passing through, not camping out in; know that sooner or later there comes a morning even for someone who’s met with immense loss.  I wish I could take your hard moments away but I can’t, so I pray for the moment.

 

For This Moment

 

Some moments we wish would last

While others we wish would pass by

 

Some moments are filled with laughter

Some moments are moments we cry

 

I pray for days of sunshine

To follow the days of our rain

 

And mostly I pray through the rainstorms

For a peace that cannot be explained

I pray in our hardest moments

For something to hold onto

​

To lift us as we walk

Those valleys we must go through

​

For eyes to see God’s goodness

Through the tears that we cannot explain

​

For minds to think upon

The hope that still remains
