Easter Praise

Before the first dawn or beginning of time

Before oceans to sail or mountains to climb

Even then in glorious ways

Existed the Godhead, worthy of praise

Spirit hovering over the deep

Creation awaiting the Father to speak

Savior in step with His Father’s good plan

That is the way that the story began

Out of the nothingness, all that we see

Worthy of praise and of all the glory

Creator of all seen and unseen things

Worthy of praise is our King of Kings

All in the garden was peaceful until

Man choose himself, over God’s will

Ate fruit forbidden, ushering in

Suffering ,sadness, death and sin

And yet through the sorrow, came glimpses of

A promise that God, the God of Love

Would someday pay the price for sin

And welcome His children home again

Out of the hopelessness, hope real and strong

Out of the sadness and darkness a song

Out of the brokenness, hope He affords

Worthy of praise is our Lord of Lords

Generations of women and men

Watching and waiting and wondering when

The promised Redeemer would finally come

The Hope of Hopes, the Promised One

We almost missed His coming here

He did not come with pomp and cheer

But rather as a Servant who

Would pay sin’s price, for me, for you

Out of the Glory, He came here to live

Our debt to pay, His life to give

Redeemer alone Who salvation brings

Worthy of praise our  Redeemer and King

With patience He waits for more to know of

His vast and freely given love

And He shapes the hearts of those who know

This love which will not let us go

And so within our hearts we yearn

For the day He will return

His final victory will come to pass

And face to face, we will meet Him at last

Out of the nothingness we have to bring

He births a song we forever will sing

Joy of our hearts, Who forever we laud

Worthy of praise is the Lord our God

I will extol you, my God and King, and bless our name forever and ever.

Psalm 145:1
