Crossroads

Decisions, decisions, so many to make
Sometimes lots, sometimes only a little, at stake
Some we make quickly, some we stew about
If only we knew just how life would turn out
As I stand at a crossroad, Lord help me to see
This is more about what You are doing in me
Than it is about things which are held in Your hands
Which I may or may not at this time understand
Help me empty my hands of what I like to do
And be open to all that You may call me to
Help me trust in Your goodness and keep in mind
The wisdom in pages of Scripture I find
Help me trust in Your Sovereignty, through it all
And when choice overwhelms me, help me recall
To make a decision is all I can do
The outcome is something I must leave to You
The greatest decision, that is mine to make
Is to lay down my life, Your cross daily take
You have promised me Heaven with joys yet unseen
I can trust You for that and for all in between
Decisions seem weighty, but weightier still
Is the strength of the love that holds me in Your will
And better than knowing what’s beyond each bend
Is knowing You guide me to my blessed end
“The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.” Proverbs 16:1

“One thing have I asked of the LORD, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple.” “Psalm 27:4
