 Brand New Year

A brand New Year with hopes to see

Brand new opportunity

New things to try, new things to do

Maybe a brand new me or you

 

But what if this year we chose instead

Of planning on how to get ahead

Or setting our minds to self improve

We simply decided to let God move

 

What if we chose to let go of

The things God prods us to in His love

Let our earthly vision grow more and more dim

So we could become more and more like Him

 

What if we chose to let Him use

Our circumstances the way He would choose

Instead of in our fears and doubt

Looking for a quick way out

 

What if we chose to dig deeper still

Into what it means- to rest in His will

To work in His strength, to love in His name

To live our moments not in vain

 

Each moment He gives is a gift to receive 

With hope in our hearts and with faith to believe

In sovereignty His plans prevail

And His love for His children never fails.

“So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of  wisdom.” Psalm 90:12
