Blueberry Smoothies

My fifteen month old loves blueberry smoothies;  upon sight, she screams until she gets the taste of one.  Yesterday she had spotted one when I opened the fridge.  She wanted it NOW, but I had a  couple things we needed to do first.  There is just no reasoning with a fifteen month old who knows what she wants.

I’ve got my own ideas about what I want for my life; when I think them up, I want them and I want them now.  I have a Heavenly Father who has made a storehouse of blueberry smoothies for me, dreams and plans for my good and His glory.  The problem is..sometimes I catch a glimpse of what I think I want, and when His plans are otherwise, or involve waiting, it’s difficult to reason with me.

God tells us His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways.  Experience has taught me that His time is often different than my time.  But as I trust His Sovereignty, as I wait for His good (be it in this lifetime or the next) I can wait with confident expectation of His provision.

I know He has a storehouse so I’m looking forward to my next blueberry smoothie.  How about you?

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”  Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV)
