A Real Valentine's Day Love

It’s that time of year,  love is in the air

How I hope it is real in your heart

Not the smaller love, that folks often speak of

But the bigger, of which we’re but a part

Not the love of emotion that ebbs and flows

Depending on how people feel

But the love that is steadfast in sunshine and rain

And is timeless, unchanging and real

How I hope that this love, is poured on you today

In ways,  both big and small

And that from the flow of the love you receive

You share it with one and with all

For love isn’t love till you open your heart

To be filled up with true love each day

And love isn’t love ‘till you’re so full of love

You cannot help but give it away

"In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.”

  I John 4:10-12
