Another Year

A brand new year is in store, a year that has never been before

We wonder of it, what will be, what will we do or think or see

 

Goals, dreams, pursuits and plans, providence and well laid plans

Into each day we invest, then hope and pray, for the best

 

Sometimes the dreams we dream come true or an even better plan comes through

All of life’s pieces seem to fit and it’s easy to make the most of it

 

But sometimes life is torn apart, broken are our plans, our hearts

Sometimes the road is rough and steep, at times we laugh, at time we weep

​

Perhaps this will year will be for you, the year that all your dreams come true

A year to many blessings know, a year when gratitude just flows

 

Or perhaps it will be a year to trust, as your dreams fade and your plans rust

A year to simply hold God’s hand in a moment hard to understand

​

Oh to trust His love, which casts out fear, as we rise to meet the coming year

To walk with purpose and pursue, all  that He would have us to

 

Oh to loosely hold our dreams and plans, but tightly grasp His steadfast hand

In good times, praise Him for His will, in times of darkness trust Him still

 

This year will come and then will pass, yet God’s eternal plans will last

Each moment that to Him is lent, will be a moment that’s well spent

 

Oh in His grace, through thick and thin, may we follow, trust, and worship Him

As He weaves this year into the story, of His Everlasting Glory.

“Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness!  Come into his presence with singing!  Know that the LORD, he is God!  It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.  Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise.  Give thanks to him; bless his name!  For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.”  Psalm 100:1,2,3,4,5 (ESV)
