All I Want For Christmas

All I want for Christmas, if I were to make a list

Is a little less of that and a little more of this

A little less anxiety and worry for the day

A little more assurance things will all work out okay

All I want for Christmas is a hope deep in my heart

That steadies me when life is good and when life falls apart

A mind at ease no matter what the future may unfold

Assurance that the blessings that await me are untold

All I want for Christmas is the wisdom and the will

To know when I am called to action, or to just sit still

Strength to meet life’s obstacles, the drive to do my best

Fortitude in trials and a peace that grants me rest

All I want for Christmas is a heart that is content

When circumstances other than desirable are sent

An attitude of gratitude each day that’s mine to live

The freedom that is found when one is not afraid to give

All I want for Christmas is a friend who never fails

One to fight my battles, whose power will prevail

A covering for my guilt and shame, a chance to be reborn

A hope to live forever in a paradise, transformed

All I want for Christmas is to know beyond a doubt

I have found the purpose, for which life is about

That the moments I am given, I do not spend in vain

That there will be a harvest from this sunshine and this rain

Christmas trees are glistening, Nativities shine bright

Heaven sends a message on this quiet Christmas night

Christ came to be our Savior and our every burden share

To be our joy and peace, all the time and everywhere

The best things on the lists we make, Jesus came to give

The truest longings of the heart are ours because He lives

Oh how I pray this christmas night for eyes to clearly see

That all we want for Christmas is all Jesus came to be
