Abide

When my heart is filled with sadness, or with anxiety

When I am fearful of today, or tomorrow what may be

 

When I wrestle just to trust Him and lay down my will and pride

Jesus simply calls me, In Him to abide

 

When I find I cannot do, the things I want to do

When I do not see the morning light from darkness breaking through

 

When strength is hard to find, and joy has ceased to be

My hope is found in Jesus, who says, “Abide in Me.”

 

In Jesus is the life I want, which only He can give

In Him alone I find the grace, I need so much to live

 

So this one thing I do, steadfast, in Him abide

Abundant is the life that’s mine when I am near His side
